Avenida Revolución (La Revu)

Avenida Revolución (La Revu) – Tijuana’s Historic Main Street
Stroll the vibrant Avenida Revolución—Tijuana’s iconic downtown artery where street art, cafes, shops, nightlife, and the birthplace of the Caesar salad converge.
Avenida Revolución, affectionately known as “La Revu,” is the historic heart of Tijuana’s Zona Centro. As the city’s first paved road, it has welcomed visitors from around the world for more than a century. During the Prohibition era, it became a lively hotspot for nightlife and entertainment, and it was here, in 1924, that the famous Caesar salad was created at Hotel Caesar’s.
Today, La Revu is a colorful blend of past and present. Visitors can admire vibrant street murals, browse artisan shops, enjoy the bustling café culture, or try a photo with the iconic “zonkey”—a donkey painted like a zebra. In recent years, the avenue has embraced a creative revival, with hidden speakeasies, street performances, and cultural events bringing fresh energy to this legendary street.
